there is wisdom in this, hear me out...  when we go on holiday we often choose exotic places for some good R & R.  then when we return, we return miserable until a few months later when the cycle repeats.

i propose this: for your next vacation, go somewhere real crappy and destitute.  spend a week there, eat bad food and get travelers diarrhea.  then when you come back home, you will be so ecstatic and appreciative of what you already have.  it's more important to appreciate the life you live everyday rather than to enjoy the life you escape to for one week stretches.
